Ted Danson and Gloria Reuben

Ted Danson receives his Lifetime Achievement Heart of Green Award from emcee Gloria Reuben. In addition to her work as an actor and singer, Reuben is an advocate for human health, human rights and the environment. She works with The Waterkeeper Alliance, National Wildlife Federation, Rainforest Action Network and the Alliance for Climate Protection on issues that include coal, clean energy and climate change.

Greg Perry, the 2009 Heart of Green Local Hero, returned to introduce this year's Local Hero, Fred Schaeffer. Perry overcame cancer to lead his high school class in the creation of The Green Dream, Ohio's largest green business expo, and the Ultimate Green Classroom, a model of sustainable design. Heart of Green Award 2010

The actual Heart of Green Awards are made from recycled glass. All signage was made from recycled cardboard, and the event was held in the Hearst Tower, a LEED Gold-certified green building (the first of its kind to be built in New York City). At the awards, guests dined on sustainable local cuisine, and sipped Hall wines, made from organically grow grapes.
